ACCREDITS INSTITUTE LAB FOR CHEMICAL TESTING

The Bureau of Product Standards under the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) recently awarded the Certificate of Accreditation to the Philippine Institute of Pure and Applied Chemistry (PIPAC) in the field of chemical testing for compliance to the international guidelines that sent out the basic regulations for a laboratory's quality management system.
PIPAC, awarded under the BPS Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (BPSLAS) was assessed using the PNS (Philippine National Standard) 1600:1997/ISO/IEC (International Organization for Standardization/International Electrotechnical Commission) Guide 25:1990 -- General Requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. ISO/IEC Guide 25 is used extensively by laboratory accreditation bodies worldwide.
Being an BPS-accredited laboratory denotes technical competence credibility, and an expectation of valide results. Client are provided with the assurance that the company's laboratory is capable of meeting a recognized standard and that is is committed to continuous improvement.
PIPAC is a private, non-stock, not-for-profit corporation, that is governed by a Board of Trustees elected from the business sector, academe, and industry. It provides the Philippine industries with essential scientific and technological services in the chemical field. It performs chemical analyses on food products, fire extinguishers, fertilizers, wastewater, feeds, juice, drinks, and detergents.
PIPAC is the 19th laboratory accredited by BPS under its Laboratory Accreditation Scheme. It is located at the Ateneo de Manila University Campus,Loyola Heights, Quezon City.
