PIPAC GETS JAPANESE

THE JAPANESE government has extended a $3.8 million (1 billion yen) to the Philippine government for the expansion of the Philippine Institute of Pure and Applied Chemistry.
The notes on the grant were signed and exchanged by acting Foreign Minister Pacifico A. Castro and Ambassador Hideho Tanaka at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Padre Faura last Friday.
A three-storey building furnished with equipment for chemical analysis will be constructed at the Ateneo de Manila University complex to enhance the capacity of PIPAC, a non-profit entity engaged in providing chemical services such as chemical analysis, research and development services.
