DESCRIPTION:The Safety in the Laboratory Seminar is a two day seminar which comprises a series of lectures on implementation of safety practices and protocols in university and industry-based laboratories. The safety seminar is designed for participants to be aware of the potential hazards commonly encountered in laboratories and discuss ways and methods to best avoid them. Introduction to good laboratory design is also included in this seminar. \nRequisite Competencies: Safety seminar participants must be currently affiliated with a laboratory or an institution or business with a laboratory. DESCRIPTION:The Quality Assurance and Quality Control seminar is a two day seminar which deals with processes that is used to measure and guarantee the quality of a product (quality assurance) and procedures utilized for ensuring that all products and services expectations of end-users/customers (quality control). From defect identification\, several parameters are undertaken to ensure that the quality of the final product meets approval of end-users\, the practice of good laboratory\, doing routine calibration checks\, and performing control charting diagnosis are steps needed to ensure all these can be met. \nRequisite Competencies: Seminar participants must somewhat knowledgeable of uncertainty calculations and statistical methods of analysis.
