Description: The Integral Components of Chemical Security seminar discusses the implementation of chemical safety practices coupled with basic chemical security protocols in university and industry-based laboratories through proper laboratory design, risk mitigation controls, and basic emergency response and management. The seminar is designed so that participants know the necessary steps to consider in creating a safer laboratory by identifying the goal of the chemical laboratory, the potential hazards commonly encountered, the means in minimizing accidents from happening, the factors to consider in a laboratory design, and the measures to take in order to best avoid emergency incidents.
Learning Objectives: Participants should be familiar with hazard identification, and risk assessment.
